Transforming Lives

A Project HOPE Guest Story

Allen’s journey with Project HOPE highlights the transformative impact of our services.

In 2024, we were grateful to keep our doors open year-round for the first time in our history. (Prior to this, we offered only seasonal, cold-weather shelter with year-round hygiene-related services for people living outdoors.) This major change in our services allowed guests like Allen to avoid staying outdoors in tents. Allen and many others are unable to handle life outdoors due to mental and physical health conditions, age, and other challenges.

Allen came to live in our shelter. With Project HOPE’s support, he received a psychological evaluation that qualified him for disability and permanent housing assistance.

Today, Allen thrives in his own apartment, actively serves his community, and finds joy in reading the Bible every day. His ongoing connection with Project HOPE highlights the vital role of compassionate support and advocacy in transforming lives.
